Begin with the shape of the session
A replay opens on an After Action Summary with a map-free 3D trail, recorded start and end times, and session extrema. The introductory trail plays once, then waits for the viewer to seek, choose a participant, or expand into immersive playback without losing the current offset or play state.
Playback offers a Minimal or Map presentation with the same elapsed-time scrubber, transport controls, speed, filters, focus, and activity timeline. Map playback uses the canonical GridStrike map scene; the map-free view uses the replay trail renderer.
- Seek through actual recorded elapsed time at 0.5×, 1×, 2×, 4×, or 8×.
- Filter events by faction, squad, team, and participant when stored identity supports it.
- Review attributed activity, objectives, markers, drawings, routes, and player trails in sync.
- Share an aggregate After Action image without player names, account IDs, or trails.
Movement analysis with explicit limits
New finalized recordings calculate participant distance, moving time, average moving speed, ascent, descent, elevation range, participation windows, status transitions, markers, drawings, and movement coverage. Terrain elevation is used when available, with acceptable device elevation only as a fallback.
Gaps longer than two minutes break a trail instead of inventing a route. Partial recordings identify their covered time range and exclude missing intervals from metrics. GridStrike does not infer kills, winners, scores, calories, precise maximum speed, or rankings from movement data.
Replay access is frozen when recording ends
When recording finalizes, GridStrike freezes the session audience. For events, that audience is the organizer, accepted staff, and accepted or assigned players. For Team Tracker, it is active members of the host and accepted invited teams. Later roster changes do not expand replay access, and frozen viewers retain access until expiry.
There are no public, no-login replay links. Replays expire 30 days after the session ends, and only the event owner can permanently delete an event replay. Playback never starts the current device’s GPS or adds its location to the recording.
